Pastor Ritter ~ June
Summer Time! We just wrapped up another wonderful school year at Immanuel and had a great celebration over at Robinson Park which has been our tradition for many years. We are also getting geared up for our Vacation Bible School happening this month! While some activities between the church and school slow down during the summer due to many people traveling, the church continues to fully operate and we use the summer to make plans for the next year.
Summertime is also a great time for families to get some much needed rest, opportunities to spend time together, perhaps visit some out of town family or host them in your home. Perhaps you have a trip or two planned for this summer or perhaps you plan to stay close to home. In either case, I encourage you to continue to take time throughout the summer to worship your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Throughout the summer here at Immanuel we will continue to have fellowship in between worship in our gathering space. Come and enjoy some refreshments either before or after worship, engage with your fellow members, perhaps meet a new person. If traveling, as you make up your itinerary try to find a place where you can also worship. If you think about it, bring me back a memento! What I mean by that, bring back a bulletin from that church, I love to see what other churches have going on.
If you’re looking for some suggestions of places to visit, I hear Lockwood, MO is beautiful in June, particularly on the weekend of June 14th when our former vicar will be ordained. Or perhaps you would like to explore Iowa and pay a visit to Aurelia, IA on the weekend of July 13th when he will be installed in his congregation. I am sure PASTOR Joseph Eggerman and his family would be excited to see you.
In any case, make a plan to spend time with your family, spend time with your friends, spend some time for yourself but also spend time with your Lord. Have a great Summer and we will see you in church!
