Youth are invited to join together and go to Lifest this Friday, July 10. We will meet at our church building at 1:00pm, ride down to Oshkosh for the day, and then arrive back in Wisconsin Rapids between 1:00-2:00am the next morning.

Ticket prices for the day are:
$32 for those under 15 years old.
$54 for those 16 years and older.

Drivers/Chaperones will be needed for this event and their ticket costs will be covered.

• Jon Blum will be having two work dates to help pull weeds and tidy up around the building’s landscaping. No need to register – just come as you are able. Weather permitting, the two times this week are:
  • Thursday, July 9 from 5pm to 7pm
  • Friday, July 10 from 9am to 11am
• Dave Frater and the Prairie Walking Path MAT will be creating our walking trails through our prairie on Wednesday, July 15. Express interest in helping through the Church Center link below.

Anyone free on Tuesday mornings is welcome to stop in the Gathering Space to have some coffee, donuts, and great discussions. Stick around following fellowship time and dig into your Bible, as well!

They also asked themselves if Immanuel’s LERT team might be a hub for Immanuel’s people to use their skills to serve other needs in our community. Immanuel’s people love to serve – it is one of your self-identified core values! Perhaps this group could lead the congregation in service toward individuals and groups throughout our community.

On Saturday, July 25 the group will continue the conversation from their last meeting. All who are interested or curious about the types of services we might offer are invited to attend. They will meet at 9am – this time in the Gathering Space.

Every month we will have a list of items to “focus” on. This month our list includes breakfast items: hot or cold cereal, pop tarts, pancake mix, and syrup. Anything you would eat for breakfast. You are still welcomed to bring other items that are non-expired, shelf stable items. Please NO glass containers.

Bring your items to our church building and drop them off at the Red Wall. We will collect the items and deliver them to the FOCUS Food Pantry.

Immanuel had 26 volunteers that helped serve meals on Thursday, June 25 at the FOCUS Neighborhood Table. We served 62 community guests (18 of whom took a second plate), 36 volunteers between Immanuel and FOCUS core volunteers and sent 22 meals out to assisted living friends for a total of 138 “plates”.  But most of all they received a healthy meal with smiles and conversation.

The dinner guests ate turkey, feta cheese, and olives purchased with money from community businesses and Immanuel. The dessert was donated and prepared by event leaders Patty and Dennis Hall.

• Miron Construction successfully patched the damaged areas on our concrete gym ceiling last week. After 63 years, small pieces of concrete along the ceiling’s expansion joints loosened through expansion and contraction – with a few falling to the floor. They eliminated the safety risk and improved the structure.
• The annual recoating of the gym floor starts Monday at 7am. The school gym will be closed for all use for the next three weeks to allow the floor to cure properly.
• We had planted prairie seeds between our parking lot and our sign that consisted of native grasses and flowers that were low-growing. After two years, some of those flowers are finally showing. Those flowers are not as thick as we hoped due to some untimely weather and mowing. We will try to reinforce the flower mix by adding extra seeds this fall. Native prairies take time to establish. In the end, your patience will be rewarded with a beautiful prairie. Please do not mow any area of the property unless assigned the area through the Lawnmowing MAT.

• Immanuel is a collection site for the United Way’s Stuff the Bus school supply campaign. Check out the items needed at the link below and drop off those items through August 4.

• Our new prayer list format starts on June 19. You can submit a prayer using:
  • The “Prayer Request” tab on the bottom of your Church Center App
  • A paper “Prayer Request” form located at the Red Wall
  • The “Prayer Request Form” link at the bottom of this weekly email.
