Brian Betts ~ January
“Communication”
January is the month when we are full of renewed energy with a new year, and we are going to make things happen. You tell all your friends about the latest stuff you are going to do, and many times by March, you are back to old habits. So, how well are you communicating with yourself? How are you communicating with others? Are you including God in your communication? This month, the theme is Communicate to Connect. The Bible verse is from Colossians 4:6: “Let your conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Communicating clearly and listening closely to understand is essential.
So, how well do you communicate? If you were to ask Wendy, there are times when she says
something, and I do not listen. Listening is hard work and takes energy as you smile at the person and maintain eye contact. It is also important to pause, listen, and ask more questions to have good communication. One important thing to know is that God has a long-distance line that is free and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Take time to communicate with God so that your conversations are seasoned with the gifts God has blessed you with, so you can have an accountability partner in heaven and on earth to make your journey better.
As you begin your New Year’s resolution, add increasing your communication skills, and see how God blesses your life and the lives of others. Have a blessed 2026.
In Christ,
Brian J. Betts-Principal
