Nic Cass ~ February
In the month of January, our team at Immanuel had the chance to attend a Team Ministry Worship in Wausau. The topic for the day was “Family Discipleship” with the presenter being Rev. Dr. Todd Biermann. Dr. Biermann is the executive director of Concordia Center for the Family which focuses on uniting homes and congregations in making lifelong disciples of Jesus.
It was a great workshop with lots of practical applications and helpful tools for family discipleship. I hope to soon share more in depth about some of the things we covered but for now I want to focus on their emphasis on home devotion time. Whether you are empty nesters, have lots of littles in the home, or live by yourself, home devotion time is a vital part of your daily faith development. It is also a practice that can easily fall by the wayside when life seems too busy (myself included).
As we approach the season of Lent, we thought this would be a great opportunity for our congregation to emphasize this home devotion time by providing resources and a short workshop on how to use them effectively. EVERYONE is invited to join us Sunday, February 22nd in the sanctuary from 9:30 – 10:00 AM. During this time, we will distribute some resources, walk though what your devotion time might look like, and answer any questions you may have.
Below are the age-appropriate resources we have planned for Lent. I pray you will join us February 22nd as we seek to equip and encourage you in your faith.
