Challenges of Life
Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
The world we live in often expects us to be positive, strong, and productive. When we look at our
workplaces or social media, we see people who appear happy and put together. The truth is, life has seasons of struggles, grief, and disappointments. The Bible verse is a reminder that the Lord is with you through the challenges of life. When we are not at our best, it does not mean we are weak; it means we are human. There are times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed and simply too much to carry on our own. This month, the catchphrase is “It’s OK to not be OK.” It can serve as a reminder that we may, at times, experience feelings of sadness and grief, which are a normal part of human life. So when life has its challenges, do you create a space for God to work in your heart? This can come through prayer and meaningful conversation with those in our community who are helping us carry our burdens. We are never alone, and we walk through life.
It is also important to extend grace to others. We never fully know what others may be facing or
carrying in their life. A kind word, a listening ear, or a simple act of kindness can be a way to be a
witness to others. When this happens, a culture of care is created that can make others feel safe and supported.
So today, give yourself permission to rest. Allow a space for honesty. Seek out others who can help you. Do not forget that the promise is that God will always be with you. It is OK to not be OK.
In Christ,
