Youth Group during Eph4
January 7 - February 11
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
And Jesus came and said to them, βAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.β
At Immanuel, Youth Ministry is a way for our Youth (6th-12th grade) to grow together as the body of Christ so that we can share His love with others and serve our community together!
A couple of ways meant specifically for Youth to be involved is through Confirmation and Youth Group. Look below for more information on both.
Confirmation is a three year process, through which Youth grow in their faith, making it their own.
Classes meet at Immanuel Lutheran School on Wednesday from 4:00-5:00 PM. The class schedule can be downloaded below.
In this year, Youth work through the entirety of God’s Word to see how God has been and is at work in the world. During this time, they will not just explore these important stories, but see how they all point to and teach us about Jesus.
In this year, Youth work through Luther’s Small Catechism, learning the six chief parts:
These six parts explore the basics of the Christian faith, expanding on what was learned in year one of Confirmation.
In this year, Youth take on difficult questions, exploring what God teaches to help them form answers for the hope they have.
Youth Group is open for all those in grades 6-12! During the school year (September-May), the Youth Group meets on most Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00 PM. During the summer (June-August) the Youth Group continues to meet, but dates and times do not follow one set schedule.
Details about what we're doing can be found in the events below. There is also a downloadable overview of our seasonal schedule below. Some events are specifically for middle school or high school aged youth. If an event is for a specific group, it will be clearly mentioned.
The best way to keep up to date on what the Youth Group is doing is by joining our Church Center group.
